Christmas

Matthew had a very exciting Christmas. On Christmas Eve we spent the day at Granna and Da's house. Matthew had so much fun. He understands presents this year, but we still need to work on learning that they are not ALL his. Here are a few pictures from Christmas Eve.

On Christmas morning Nana was here and Granna and Da came over for breakfast! After we ate we watched Matthew open all of his presents and of course as he opened them he wanted to play so it took a while for him to open everything. Here are a couple of pictures of Matthew opening presents at home on Christmas morning. In the background of picture 2 you will see Matthew's new table and chairs from his Nana. He calls it his "car table." Yes, he is obsessed, no we aren't concrened.....yet.

On Christmas Day in the afternoon we went to Jenn and Jay's. We opened presents again and Matthew was even more excited. Jennifer and Jay got him a whole bag full of Cars stuff. We now have ALL the cars except for Flo. We are now working on the actual names of the makes and models. For instance Ramon is a Chevrolet Impala. Or as Matthew says "Cheveryay Umpada." We're working on it!!!

"CHOO-CHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"
Matthew played with his trains tonight! This may not seem like a big deal to you, but YOU don't have to listen to his contant stream of play-by-play action sequences from the movie Cars. During this ever-so-short interlude, he actually talked about something else!!! But, as you will see in the video, we always come back to Cars.

(in case you haven't seen the movie; 1. what are you waiting for? and 2. "Frank" is the combine/bull who gaurds the tractor/cows.)
Playin' at the Park

We went to the new playground at the church this weekend. It was nice for him to be able to play on slides that were actually designed for his size. He climbed up and down for an hour. He even raced his daddy. Daddy must be getting rusty in his old age, as he was 0-3 against Lightning Morton.

Christmas at the Ranch
We went to the Rancha de la Roca for their Christmas Round-up. There was a hay ride and a campfire, and of course Santa Clause giving out "cana-canas!!!" Here is Matthew showing his off. He enjoyed riding the tractor and seeing the "critters" in the barn. Ahh yes, Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without "critters" in Aubrey, TX!!!

Talkin' to Nana

Matthew had a nice long chat with his Nana over the weekend. He told her all about "lightin' mcqueen, doc, mater, sally, mack, DJ and guido's pit stops" (in case you hadn't noticed, we have a bit of a Car's obsession) Daddy doesn't mind, but now Mommy has 2 boys who are obsessed with cars. Here are a few pictures of Matthew on the phone.

Weekend at Granna's

Matthew enjoyed his Saturday afternoon and evening at Granna and Da's house this weekend. From "cars and trucks!!!" to painting on his "beazel" Matthew keeps his Granna very very busy, which means that every once and a while, Mommy and Daddy actually get a little break!

In the Snow

We had a little bit of winter weather this week. No one is sure whether or not Matthew enjoyed it, because he was far too busy being ticked about having to wear his coat hood.

Matthew's Birthday

Matthew had a great birthday. Here he is playing with his preschool center that his MiMi and Poppy gave him.

Matthew also had a birthday party which was very overwhelming but he had a great time playing with everything and everyone! I think he only helped open 2 or 3 presents and the rest of the time he wanted to play with his cars. He also enjoyed having cake and ice cream. Here are a few pictures of him opening presents and a picture of his Monster Truck cake!

Busy Boy
Matthew is very busy these days! He has mastered doing somersaults and checking his email. He also has learned most of his letters and shapes.

Tonight he wanted to wear a hat like Mr. Potato Head and the first hat that I came across was his golfer hat. So here he is in the golfer hat.

Here's a quick update on what Matthew has been up to. Matthew has learned all of his colors and now he is learning his shapes. He has also become the little parrot. His favorite new words are Gorilla and Super Duper! I hope after a few days that super duper will be replaced.

Playing

Matthew started his Children's Day Out program this week. He seems to love going and his teachers said that he is doing great.

Matthew also has been very busy playing. His new thing to do when I get the camara out is try and take the camara from me, hold it up like he is going to take a picture and then he says CHEESE!! Here are some pictures of him playing and making funny faces.

Our Little Artist

Matthew is exploring so many new things these days, yesturday it was paint! He had so much fun painting and coloring at his Granna and Da's. Matthew even got purple paint on Granna's white carpet, but no worries she got the paint out. Here are a few pictures of Matthew expressing himself through ART!
