"We goin' to Big Spwings!!!"
We did indeed go to Big Spring this weekend. Matthew got to see his great aunt Kaki, his cousin Misty and her kid's Brooke and Blake. (Ok, technically, they are my [Ben] cousins, but I don't know the rules about second and third cousins twice removed or whatever...so everyone's a cousin.) Matthew loved playing with Blake. And by playing with, I mean running around behind shouting, "Bwake, Bwake!" He later became known as "The Blake."

While we were there, we climbed a mountain (read that--small hill) and saw the native flora and fauna (cacti and mosquitos) He did a good job running most of the way and he will be the first to tell you that he is "so fast." But even the best runners sometimes stumble...twice. We had two major incidents...well, major to Matthew. One of them even required a band-aid. But, Mommy kissed the boo-boo's and made them all better!

Over all it was a good trip. Matthew is looking forward to having Brooke and Blake come play this summer. However, we regret to inform you that Matthew has been diagnosed with R.E.D.S. We are still looking for a cure, but there may be no hope.....

Nana, chalk and a Wii

Now, you may be asking yourself, "what do those things have to do with one another?" The answer is simple. Matthew loves all 3 of them!
Last week, Matthew's Nana came (that's Amanda's mother, for those of you who might not know.) She brought a Molly, and Harold, and Ben and Bill, and Annie, and Clarabel, and Fergus (trains, trains and more trains....and a helicopter) Nope, Matthew's not spoiled at all!

While she was here, she went with Matthew to the petting zoo at his preschool. He loved it. Especially the little "pot-bellied pigs"

Once Nana left, Mommy had to keep Matthew busy so he wouldn't be too sad. And on the ONE nice day we've had in the last three weeks, they went and played with chalk on the sidewalk. Our little apartment building has a little more color...until the next rain washes it away.

And the crowning jewel of the month (no offence, Nana) is Daddy's new Wii!!! This, as you may have guessed puts Amanda at the head of the standings for wife of the year. All she has to do to stay there is play along! Which she is glad to do as long as it's boxing. She is undefeated. (read that, Ben got knocked out by his own wife....5 TIMES!!!) Matthew loves to play too.
